Wildcat Midstream was founded in 2019 for the strategic objective to grow Uintah Basin volumes by giving producers ratable offtake assurances and marketing alternatives for the unique wax molecule desired by refiners. Historically, basin growth was limited to regional consumption via Salt Lake City refineries approximately 85,000 – 90,000 b/d as alternative marketing and transportations were deemed uneconomic. Wildcat Midstream developed an alternative logistical supply chain by a strategic capital investment into a rail transloading operation, securing term supply contracts with regional producers, executing long-term contracts with Union Pacific Railroad, Plains All-American’s St. James Terminal and with one of the largest publicly traded refiners globally.
Innovative thinking and expeditious implementation have unlocked the basin’s export growth to over 100,000 b/d yielding benefits to not only the producers, but to regional economies as well as, state and local tax revenues.
