Uinta Basin Wax transport support, Highway 191 Indian Canyon, Utah
Safety and Community Awareness are Core Principles at Wildcat Midstream Limited Partnership (“Wildcat”). Given the required route (+—100 miles) to transport the Uinta Basin wax production from the various well sites in Duchesne and Uintah counties to the Wildcat rail terminal in Helper, UT, skilled transport drivers navigate the scenic State Hwy 191 through Indian Canyon (elevation of 9,100 ft) on a year-round basis.
Wildcat Midstream and SM Energy recognized the need to arm these drivers with as much advanced notice as possible of the road conditions and the tools to adjust to the seasonal weather. The proactive response was to create and circulate a daily Road Report and a mobile facility to allow transport drivers access to tire chains and other response equipment to enhance the safety of all drivers along this route.
Scope of Work: – Provide two 2-man crews with trucks, operating 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week, to monitor safety, weather, and traffic conditions on both sides of Indian Canyon. Crews will assist crude trucks with chain-ups to keep traffic moving. – Project – will maintain communication with UDOT, provide real-time weather and road updates, and assist in clearing stuck vehicles to ensure traffic flow and safety. – Weekly inventory reports submitted to sponsors for restocking and daily reports detailing crew activities and safety efforts.
Wildcat Midstream is jointly funding this transport support program to assure reliable and safe passage of the transport drivers who provide the critical energy link between the wellhead and railhead and the safety of ANY motorist traveling this vital transportation corridor.
